Women's History Month 2018

Cause and Awareness

She Persisted

March 8, 2018 Happy International Women’s Day to all the strong, powerful, and incredible women out there! You inspire every day to be better, to create better, and to demand a better world for us all. Despite every challenge you persist.

In March we celebrate the significant role of women in history. The theme for 2018 Women’s History month is NEVERTHELESS SHE PERSISTED: Honoring Women Who Fight All Forms of Discrimination Against Women

Marching Forward

Despite election defeats women all over the world march in solidarity. In 2016 Teresa Shook of Hawaii created a Facebook event and invited friends to march on Washington in protest of all the divisive rhetoric and to lead a charge for legislative change for women and human rights. The movement has been picking up steam since 2016 fast forward to 2018 and women are bringing Power To The Polls. Women are rallying together to register more voters, and vote out the leaders that have chosen party and personal agendas over the will of the people.

Band Together

Women not only marched, but women also joined forces to eradicate sexual assault and harassment, especially in the workplace. The Me Too and Times Up movements has ushered in a new day for girls and women all over the world. From hashtag to policy change women are proving that we will not be silenced. Together we will push the elephant until victory is won.

Power of Inclusion

Women understand the power of inclusion. During the 2018 Oscar ceremony actress Frances McDormand placed a call to action to everyone on the room.
"I have two words to leave with you tonight, ladies and gentlemen: inclusion rider."

An inclusion rider is a stipulation that actors and actresses can ask (or demand) to have inserted into their contracts, which would require a certain level of diversity among a film's cast and crew.

When you are locked out rooms, denied the right to vote, paid less for equal work, had your body violated, and voice marginalized…once you find a path to equality you want to bring every one along. Women understand more than anyone that we rise by lifting others. One thing I know for certain is that when women are empowered everyone wins.

In our support for each other amazing things happen. We can turn cant's into cans, and dreams into plans

Fight on ladies fight on ♀️
